Lukoil Expects Norsi Refinery To Restore Normal Operations in 1-2 Months

REFINING

Lukoil expects to restore output at its 340kbpd Norsi refinery in one or two months, Russia’s Deputy PM Alexander Novak said on Friday.

  • " There are various forecasts, and we hope that the equipment that was damaged will be restored within one or two months," Novak said.
  • Lukoil’s NORSI refinery dropped runs to 161,000 bpd during 13-20 March - down by 36% from early March according to Reuters calculations.
  • The refinery shut the main CDU (AVT-6) following several Ukrainian drone and missile attacks, meaning at least half of the refinery’s production is halted, sources told Reuters.
  • On Jan 4 the refinery shut down one of the two catalytic cracking units due to an accident and the replacement of equipment is not possible in the near term due to sanctions. The Russian Energy Minister Shulginov said late February that repairs at the refinery will take several months.
