Maersk Extends Pause of Red Sea Shipping

Maersk has issued a statement saying the firm will continue to pause all cargo movement through the Red Sea following the Houthi rebel attack on the Maersk Hangzhou vessel over the weekend, the firm said in a statement.

  • “An investigation into the incident is ongoing and we will continue to pause all cargo movement through the area while we further assess the constantly evolving situation”, it said.
  • Maersk plans to reroute some vessels around the Cape of Good Hope.
