Maintenance and Outages Hitting Russian Diesel Exports

Russian diesel production in August could slip by 7.5% vs July to 7.1mn metric tons due to refinery outages and maintenance work according to Reuters sources.

  • Russian diesel will also be given priority for the domestic harvest season rather than exports.
  • Rystad said seaborne exports of Russian diesel and gasoil declined to around 690,000 bpd over Aug. 1-25 from 960,000 bpd in July.
  • The Ryazan refinery has idled more than half of its diesel hydrotreater capacity while the Omsk, Perm, Volgograd and Novokuybyshev refineries have also seen processing reductions that are impacting diesel supply.
