BUNDS: Marginal upticks noted for German fixed income futures, in what has been
a very limited Asia-Pacific session for the space.
- Schatz +0.010, Bobls +0.030, Bunds +0.09.
- Thursday provided a relatively limited session for the space, as the accounts
from ECB's Dec MonPol decision revealed that Bank officials fear the Eurozone
economy remains "fragile and fluid," but the fundamental factors supporting
expansion remain in place and there are upside as well as downside risks to
growth. Also worth remembering that the minutes revealed that a suggestion was
made "to revisit the contribution of targeted longer-term refinancing operations
to the monetary policy stance."
- Late Thursday, German Economy Minister Altmaier stated that the domestic
economy is not heading towards a recession, but did reveal that the gov't is
discussing the introduction of fiscal measures to support growth.
