Marginally Richer On Tuesday, CPI In View

TYZ3 deals at 107-11+, -0-02+, in line with late NY levels.

  • Cash tsys finished 1-3bps richer across the major benchmarks, the curve bull steepened.
  • Tsys observed narrow ranges for the most part yesterday with little follow through on moves, there was little in the way of meaningful data and the proximity to this evening's US CPI print kept some participants on the sidelines.
  • Technically the recent selloff in TY is contained, resistance comes in at 108-25, high from Nov 3 and bull trigger. Support is at 107-00, round number support and yesterday's low.
  • Democrats Senate Leader Schumer noted a short time ago that he will let the House move first on stopgap funding measure as the debt ceiling standoff evolves (BBG).
  • The docket is light in Asia today, further out the October CPI print headlines today's docket. There are a number of Fed speakers due with NY Fed President Williams the standout.
