Markets Net Buyers of JPY in Most Recent Week of CFTC Data

Speculators built the JPY net long by a further 10k contracts according to Friday's CFTC CoT report. The size of the position rose to 15% of open interest from 10% previously, although still well short of the 52week high at ~26% of OI.


  • The small AUD long was erased in the most recent week of data, returning AUD positioning to neutral. Speculators were net sellers of AUD, cutting the net position by 10k to -1,314 contracts, a move of 8ppts as a % of OI.
  • CFTC report showed markets were small net sellers of EUR, GBP also.
