UK DATA: May Car Manufacturing Lifts GDP 
- UK May manufacturing +1.4% m/m; adds 0.14pp to GDP growth
- UK May manufacturing +0.1% 3m/3m vs +1.1% in April
- UK May IoP +1.4% m/m vs -2.9% in April

A rebound in motor vehicle production lifted GDP in April, with car 
output surging 24%, reversing a similar-sized plunge in April -- both 
the biggest on record. However, total manufacturing output was revised 
lower in April, recorded a 4.2% monthly fall, compared to the 
orginally-reported 3.9% decline, the biggest decline since June 2002. 
Manufacturing output rose by just 0.1% in the three months to May, the 
weakest performance since December of last year.
