Minutes the Highlight of the Week

BOND SUMMARY

Bonds started the week on the front foot as Europe opened . Despite giving back some of their gains core bonds remain marginally higher, with equities also generally slightly higher on the day.

  • The data calendar is fairly sparse this week with the focus on the FOMC Minutes on Wednesday and the ECB accounts on Thursday. Elsewhere the highlights will be the flash PMIs on Friday and UK retail sales for July, also due for release on Friday.
  • TY1 futures are up 0-4+ today at 139-08+ with 10y UST yields down -1.6bp at 0.694% and 2y yields unch at 0.146%.
  • Bund futures are up 0.13 today at 175.89 with 10y Bund yields down -0.8bp at -0.431% and Schatz yields down -0.5bp at -0.659%.
  • Gilt futures are up 0.11 today at 136.82 with 10y yields down -0.5bp at 0.237% and 2y yields down -1.2bp at -0.35%.
