MNI BRIEF: BOJ Kuroda: Paying Close Attention To Forex Moves

TOKYO (MNI)

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said Wednesday that the central bank is paying close attention to the dollar/yen rate following the U.S. presidential election, but he ruled out the possibility of specific action.

"Market players seem to be worried about rapid movements of (the dollar/yen rate) due to the election results. But the dollar/yen is moving in a tight range recently and is relatively stable, compared with bond and stock market moves," Kuroda told reporters.

Kuroda said the bank is carefully monitoring developments in the economy, prices, and financial markets in considering additional easing measures. He added that he doesn't see the need to review the policy framework and change the 2% price target now.
