U.S. employment may have fallen slightly in November, according to a St. Louis Fed analysis of real-time data from employee scheduling software provider Homebase, bank economist Max Dvorkin told MNI.

The St. Louis Fed's Coincident Employment Index "decreased slightly," translating to a 63,000 decline, not seasonally adjusted, in employment as measured by the BLS's household survey. Seasonality contributes slightly on the positive side, reducing that drop to only 10,000, seasonally adjusted.

Wall Street expects Friday's jobs report to show U.S. payroll gains slowing to 200,000 from 261,000 a month earlier, based on the BLS establishment survey.

(Note: The sharp drop at the end of November is due to the effect of the Thanksgiving holiday and workers taking time off.)
