Bank of Japan board members will discuss the expansion of a range of 10-year policy interest rates at the March 18-19 meeting but nothing has yet been decided, BOJ Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said on Friday

Kuroda told lawmakers that the BOJ must ensure the functioning of bond markets but it was necessary to keep yield curves at low levels as downward pressure on the economy continues amid the coronavirus pandemic.

He also said that it is difficult to say how the BOJ will deal with the issue.
