U.S. weekly jobless claims rebounded by slightly less than expected in the latest week, still painting a picture of a job market showing ample slack. Claims rose 9,000 to 745,000 in the week ended Feb. 27.

Continuing claims fell 124,000 to 4,295,000 in the week ending Feb. 20, the Labor Department said. There were still 7,328,311 individuals claiming continued Pandemic Unemployment Assistance benefits and 4,466,916 filing continued claims for Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation benefits.
