MNI China Press Digest, Feb 3: Short-selling, China-U.S.

BEIJING (MNI) - The following lists highlights from Chinese press reports
on Monday:
The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) has asked traders to
suspend short-selling from Monday, according to state-media International
Finance News. The report, which cited anonymous sources at securities companies,
also said the CSRC required brokers not to close out their positions on
companies impacted by the Coronavirus epidemic.
Attacks by U.S. politicians on China over the Coronavirus are disgraceful,
according to an editorial in Global Times. The editorial criticized Commerce
Secretary Wilbur Ross for saying that the epidemic would help bring jobs back to
the U.S. China has taken measures which could not be applied in many other
countries and these would help it recover from the crisis soon, Global Times
said.
