- The final days of 2018 saw mainly short covering and fresh longs set across
the EGB/Gilt futures space, alongside an Italy-EU budget deal, signs of
weakening economic growth, and global equity weakness.
- The most notable move was in BTP structural positioning, which moved to
extreme longs in the latter half of December in light of the Rome-Brussels
detente, and related short covering.
- While OAT and Gilt positioning is flat, Schatz positioning is notably short,
in contrast to long Bund positioning.
