LONDON (MNI) - It is a packed calendar on Thursday with a whole host of ECB

ECB Executive Board member Benoit Coeure will participate in a second panel
discussion at the 10th edition of Journees de l'economie (Jeco), in Lyon,
France.
This is followed at 1315GMT by ECB Executive Board member Yves Mersch who
will give a speech at 1st annual forum "Banking & Technology", in Vienna.
Across the Atlantic the first release of the day is US Weekly Jobless
Claims at 1330GMT. The level of initial jobless claims is expected to rise by
1,000 to 230,000 in the November 4 week after a 5,000 decrease in the previous
week.
The four-week moving average would fall by 3,500 in the coming week as the
244,000 level in the October 7 week drops out of the calculation, assuming the
MNI forecast is correct and there are no revisions. As the average was already
at a 44-year low in the previous week, another decline would be significant.
Also at 1330GMT is the Canadian New Housing Price Index.
Another ECB board member speech on the docket for 1345GMT, ECB Executive
Board member Vitor Constancio will give a speech at 4th annual Financial
Regulatory Outlook Conference organised by Oliver Wyman and CIGI, in Rome.
