MNI: PBOC Sets Yuan Parity at 6.4372, Highest Since Dec 2015

     BEIJING (MNI) - PBOC set yuan central parity rate vs U.S. dollar at 6.4372
on Tuesday, stronger than 6.4574 set yesterday. Today's fixing is the strongest
since Dec. 11, 2015.

- PBOC started setting daily central parity rate on Jan. 4, 2007.
- On July 21, 2005, China changed to a managed float with reference to a basket
of currencies, freeing yuan's peg to the dollar.
- Starting March 17, 2014, yuan allowed to move 2% on either side of the daily
fixing against the dollar.
