The Federal Reserve, FDIC and OCC said Friday they will soon propose new capital standards for large banks, without including further details in the announcement.

"The agencies plan to seek public input on the new capital standards for large banking organizations and are currently developing a joint proposed rule for issuance as soon as possible," the bank regulators said in a joint press release.

The regulators also "reaffirmed their commitment" to implementing enhanced regulatory capital requirements that align with the final set of Basel III standards.

The Fed's new vice chair for supervision, Michael Barr, previously said he plans to examine capital and liquidity regulation, including recalibrating the supplementary leverage ratio, Basel III endgame and stress testing.
