US TSY/RECAP
US TSY/RECAP: Monday provided a quiet start to the week, with the space
operating in a range bound manner, as Tsys reversed the early risk-off bid on
$15bln worth of Bayer 8-part issuance.
- Equities trimmed steeper losses which also helped Tsys back from highs.
- New NY Fed Pres Williams offered little new, as he noted that he sees strong
economic growth & a strong labour market, with inflation near the Fed's goal.
- With the economy running close to target and inflation near the 2% goal,
Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank President Raphael Bostic said in a speech Monday
that he is that he is comfortable continuing with rate hikes as the federal
funds rate continues its path towards neutral, but noted that he is still in the
camp that looks for only one more rate hike this year, in contrast to a movement
in the median forecast for two hikes last Wednesday.
- The Eurodollar strip finished steady to slightly higher.
- Fed's Bullard will speak on Tuesday.
- T-Notes last at 119.21+, US 10-Year Tsy yield closed at 2.917%.
