Net Purchases Slip To 5-Week Low

ECB

ECB net asset purchases slipped to a 5-week low of E13.5bln in the week ending Dec 3, vs E22.2bln prior.

  • The major contributors to the decline were a slowdown in PEPP (E10.7bln vs E15.7bln) and PSPP (E1.5bln vs E5.6bln) net purchases, while Covered Bonds and ABS buys dipped slightly as well. CSPP purchases picked up slightly vs the prior week.
  • Note, PEPP saw E7.1bln in redemptions (a 5-week high), with PSPP seeing E5.2bln (a 4-week high).
  • Net PEPP purchases are still running at a E16bln weekly pace average over the past 4 weeks - E64.1bln net in that period.
