Net Selling Of Foreign Bonds Resumed Last Week

JAPAN

The latest round of weekly Japanese international security flow data revealed net selling of foreign bonds by Japanese investors (for the 3rd time in 4 weeks), more than reversing the net buying seen in the previous week, with the 4-week rolling sum of the metric printing at negative extremes (representing net selling) not seen since '17.

  • Elsewhere, foreign investors were net buyers of Japanese bonds for a second consecutive week, pushing the week rolling sum of the metric back into positive territory (which represents net buying) after 2 weeks in negative territory.
