New Poll Shows Le Pen Closing In On Macron In 2nd Round

Latest hypothetical 2022 second-round presidential election opinion polls from Ifop show a close race among many of the potential combinations of presidential candidates. Polls indicate that incumbent President Emmanuel Macron and potential centre-right Les Republicains candidate Xavier Bertrand would both likely beat right-wing National Rally leader Marine Le Pen in a second round. However, Le Pen may have a better chance of beating Paris mayor and potential Socialist Party candidate Anne Hidalgo:
