No Extended Cheniere LNG Terminal Outages This Summer

LNG

Cheniere does not expect extended outages at its Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi LNG terminals in Texas and Louisiana this summer with a less extensive maintenance program than last year.

  • "We do not anticipate a long outage like we executed in June last year," CEO Jack Fusco said.
  • Maintenance work has been spread out across the year with several smaller-scale turnarounds already completed. Remaining works are mostly planned for Q2 and Q3 but no specific guidance on the plan was provided.
  • Sabine Pass maintenance has historically lasted between 20-30 days.
  • Cheniere expects to produce about 45m mt/y in 2024.
  • The Corpus Christi LNG 10m mt/year midscale expansion is more than 55% complete with the first LNG train expected by the end of 2024 and the project fully online by the end of 2026.
  • Cheniere is targeting FID on a Corpus Christi 3m mt/year expansion in 2025 and FID on a 15m mt/year Sabine Pass expansion in 2026.
  • Contracting tied to US LNG has slowed since the permitting freeze.
