Norway Authorized Start of Tommeliten A Gas Field

NATURAL GAS

Norway’s Petroleum Directorate authorized the start up of the Tommeliten A gas field in the North Sea that has an estimated output of 24mcm, the NPD said.

  • Operator Conoco Phillips expects the field to come on stream this month, after plans were approved last year. Tommeliten A will include eleven development wells, seven of which will be completed as of start-up. The operator expects to complete the four remaining wells during the 1Q24.
  • The field, which mainly contains gas and condensate, is a transboundary field, with a marginal share on the UK shelf. The licensees on the Norwegian and UK sides have unitized the activity.
  • Gas from the field will be routed to the Ekofisk field for further processing and export to the German Emden gas terminal.
