*Aussie opened in Asia toward the middle of the $0.7648 to $0.7696 range
witnessed yesterday, where broad-based US dollar strength was largely offset by
rising base metal prices, which rose up to 4.1% on the London Metals Exchange.
*Asia's response to reports that Powell was Trump's pick for Fed chair was to
sell dollars from the get-go, there was also angst over the Republican Tax Bill,
with some conjecture that corporate tax cuts may be only temporary and phased
out after a decade
*Aussie climbed from around $0.7675 to meet supply around $0.7700 from macro and
option names
*Dips were shallow and limited to $0.7689, another wave of buying also
encouraged by better-than-expected local Building approvals and Trade data
pushed the Aussie to $0.7720. Pullbacks were then held to $0.7709, another round
of buying took the Aussie to a session high of $0.7726 before fading slightly
heading toward the European open
