*Euro-dollar opened in Asia toward the upper side of the $1.1813 to $1.1856
range witnessed yesterday, where a softer greenback and upbeat European economic
data placed the single currency on the front foot.
*Following on from the US 'Thanksgiving Day' the Asia session was a lacklustre
affair, with consolidation the general theme.
*One story hit the wires, but surprisingly the market showed little reaction,
'Green party calls for Chancellor Merkel to forge coalition with SPD', citing
Bild, perhaps European traders will see the news as supportive and take the euro
a little higher.
*Edging lower to $1.1837 demand in euro-yen, which proved to be ongoing, pushed
the rate to a fresh high of $1.1859
*Heading toward the opening of European markets the pair remained elevated at
$1.1856  
*German IFO data provides the initial event risk for the session ahead.
