US DATA: Oct industrial production surged to +0.9% vs +0.5% 
expected. Sept IP revised up slightly to +0.4% from +0.3%.  
-IP saw most categories up, with utilities +2.0%, manufacturing +1.3%, 
materials +1.3%, and business equipment +0.5%, but mining -1.3%. 
-IP ex motor veh +0.9%. Mfg excl. motor veh & parts +1.3%; and motor 
veh & parts +1.0%. 
-Durables mfg +0.4% with categories generally up, apart from small 
declines in nonmetallic mineral products and miscellaneous. 
-Nondurable mfg jumped to +2.3%, boosted by all categories except 
for plastic and rubber and food, beverage, and tobacco products. 
-Capacity utilization rose to 77.0% vs 76.3% expected. September 
capacity util revised up 0.4pp to 76.4%. Mfg cap util increased to 
76.4%.
