*Euro opened in Asia toward the upper side of Friday's $1.1773 to $1.1833 range,
where consolidation was the theme
*All eyes were on Catalonia in early trading during the Asia-Pacific region,
reports of Spanish riot police using force to remove voters from polling
stations with more than 760 people said to be injured. Euro-dollar succumbed to
initial weakness, the rate easing from $1.1820 to $1.1777 before recovering to
$1.1807.
*After that initial uneasiness, raised risk appetite amid upbeat China PMI
released over the weekend and an improving Japanese Tankan survey sparked
broad-based US dollar strength, the move was further encouraged by much higher
US rate yield. Euro dropped from $1.1807 to $1.1771 and was last at $1.1775
*Support is located at $1.1764 61.8% $1.1717-$1.1833, while hourly resistance
lies at $1.1820.
*European PMI's provide the event risks to the session ahead
