OI Points To Mix Of SONIA Positioning Swings Into Weekend

The combination of Friday's price swings on the SONIA strip (most contracts finished lower) and OI data points to the following net position swings ahead of the weekend:

  • Whites: A mix of apparent modest long cover in SFIZ3 & U4 and apparent long setting in SFIH4. It is hard to be sure when it comes to the position swing in SFIM4 given the unchanged price status on the day.
  • Reds: Net long cover was seemingly seen across most of the pack, with only SFIH5 breaking the wider theme, via a very modest round of apparent net short setting.
  • Greens: Net long cover was seemingly seen across most of the pack, with only SFIM6 breaking the wider theme, via a very modest round of apparent net short setting.
  • Reds: Net short setting was seemingly seen across all contracts.
