There has been a consistent decline in global seaborne crude exports through 2024, especially out of the Middle East and Europe according to Vortexa. 

  • The declines have primarily been underpinned by Middle East cuts and new refinery startups.
  • Libyan exports in September were the key aspect that pulled global exports deeper into negative territory in September (though are set to resume Thursday).
