OIL: India's July Crude Imports Increase on Month by Down 0.7% y/y

India’s crude oil imports in July fell by 0.7% year on year to 19.4m tons but compared to 18.8m tons in June, according to provisional data from the oil ministry’s Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell.

  • Total oil exports were down 4.3% year on year to 5.125m tons but 2.9% higher than in June.
  • Diesel exports fell by 12.7% year on year to 2.082m tons but up 7.1% from June.
  • Gasoline exports fell by 15.3% on the year to 1.065m tons and down 14% from last month.
  • Data released earlier this month showed fuel consumption in India, the world's third-biggest oil importer and consumer, rose by 7.4% m/m in July.
