OIL OPTIONS: WTI Aug24 Option Expiry – Wed 16 July 24

OIL OPTIONS
  • A total of 536mbbls of open August 24 options positions on CME and ICE are currently due to expire against the August future close tomorrow. Current aggregate open interest is 246k call contracts and 290k puts.
  • The aggregate open interest across all WTI call options on both exchanges is relatively unchanged on the month at 1.66m but put option open interest has risen to 1.41m.
  • The most significant open exposures of interest are at put strikes of $82/bbl and below and calls at $80/bbl and above.
