Parts of Rhine River Closed on High Water Levels

FREIGHT

Parts of the river Rhine in Germany have been closed on high water levels following days of heavy rain, with the closure around Maxau in the south, while central and northern sections of the river remained open, German authorities said.

  • Due to the part closure, high water means vessels do not have enough space to sail under bridges, preventing vessels reaching Switzerland.
