PERU: Trade Surplus Rises, Petroperu Board Appointments Expected Next Week

In July alone, the surplus came in at $2.297bn, up from $1.157bn in July the previous year. Exports rose by 31.9% y/y in July to $6.83bn, while imports grew by 12.2% y/y to $4.532bn.
  • In other news, Prime Minister Adrianzen said yesterday that the appointment of Petroperu’s new board members could be ready next week. He said that he would prefer not to make any further comments on potential appointments until he had all the confirmations.
