PM Faces Criticism Over Asset Declaration Error, FinMin Releases Debt Issuance Schedule

CZECHIA
  • Seznam Zpravy reported that Prime Minister Petr Fiala may face a fine for an error in his asset declaration form. Apart from the likely fine, the issue may inflict some reputational damage on the Prime Minister, who argues that he wasn't aware that his account with a credit union comes with share ownership. Said union drew media attention last year, when part of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's payment for ammunition deposited there was withdrawn and disappeared in mysterious circumstances.
  • Prime Minister Fiala and European Commission Vice President Vera Jourova are due to speak at a conference on Czechia's 20 years in the EU.
  • Czech Finance Ministry will publish its debt issuance calendar for February at 13:00GMT/14:00CET.
