POLAND: Junior Ruling Party Wants to Extend Energy Price Cap

  • Bloomberg report that Poland’s junior ruling coalition partner Polska’2050 is seeking to extend the energy price cap into next year, citing its party’s leader as saying in an interview after ruling party chiefs discussed 2025 budget plans.
  • As a reminder, the head of the prime minister’s office said recently that cabinet will approve a 2025 budget draft at the end of the week.
  • There are no major releases scheduled for today. Later in the week, the final reading of Q2 GDP and preliminary CPI figures for August will cross the wires (on Thursday and Friday, respectively), with the latter seen unchanged compared to July at +4.2% Y/Y.
