Post-CPI Gains Marginally Trimmed

NZD/USD prints at $0.6000/05, the pair is ~0.1% lower this morning.

  • The Kiwi has trimmed a small amount of yesterday's post US CPI gains this morning, NZD/USD is holding above the $0.60 handle for now. The USD is moderately firmer across the G-10 space in early trade in Asia.
  • Bulls look to hold above the $0.60 handle to target the 200-Day EMA ($0.6065). This opens the high from 10 Aug ($0.6118). On the downside bears look to target the 20-Day EMA ($0.5915), which opens the low from 14 Nov at $0.5864.
  • AUD/NZD is a touch lower however the $1.08 handle is intact this morning.
  • Cross asset wise; short end US Tsy YIelds are firmer and BBDXY is up ~0.1%.
  • Wider swings in risk sentiment remain the primary driver in NZD.
