POWER: CWE Spot Prices Fall on Wind, Warmer Weather

Spot power prices in France and Germany have pulled lower with forecasts for higher wind output, while milder weather is limiting demand for electric heating.
- The German day-ahead spot settled at €95/MWh, down from €105.59/MWh in the previous session, which was the highest since 22 September.
- The French day-ahead spot cleared at €71.03/MWh, down from €89.35/MWh the day before, which was the highest since 1 October.
- In Germany, wind output is forecast to edge higher on the day to 7.62GW on Tuesday. Solar PV output is forecast to rise to 12.65GW during peak load on Tuesday, up from 9.33GW forecasted for Monday according to SpotRenewables.
- Residual load in Germany is forecast to rise by 2.9 GWh/h on the day to average 42.3GWh/h on Tuesday according to Reuters.
- Power demand in Germany is forecast to peak at 64.41GW on Monday and at 64.54GW on Tuesday, Entso-E data showed.
- Mean temperatures in Dusseldorf, Germany, are forecast to rise to 9.9C on Tuesday, compared with 8.8C on Monday – both days below the 30-year normal.
- In France, wind output is forecast to rise on the day to 4.69GW during base load on Tuesday. Solar PV output is forecast to fall on the day to 3.92GW during peak load according to SpotRenewables. Residual load in France is forecast to decrease by 2.3GWh/h day on day on Tuesday according to Reuters
- Power demand in France is forecast at a maximum of 53.28GW on Monday and of 52GW on Tuesday, Entso-E data showed.
- Mean temperatures in Paris are forecast to rise around 1C on the day to 15.9C on Tuesday, above the 30-year normal of 12.7C.
- Nuclear availability in France was at 72% as of Monday morning, up from 69% on Friday, RTE data showed, cited by Bloomberg.
