POWER: Czech to Begin Modernisation Works At 1GW Temelin Unit on 11 Oct

Cez is shutting down the 1GW Unit 2 at the 2GW Temelin nuclear power plants over 11 Oct-7 Dec 2024 to replace 54 fuel assemblies and complete modernisation projects, it said today.

  • The work will allow the unit to operate for 2 months longer, Cez added.
  • At the moment, the 500MW unit 1 at the 2GW Dukovany power plant is offline until 27 Oct, latest Remit data show.
  • Additionally, the 500MW unit 4 at the Dukovany power plant will be disconnected from 24 Dec 2024 to 6 March 2025.
