POWER: France Nov Power Edges Lower
POWER
France front-month power is edging lower today but remains within this week’s range with forecasts pointing to milder weather from next week. French spot power is likely to fall on the day with forecasts pointing to higher renewables output.
- France Base Power NOV 24 down 0.5% at 77 EUR/MWh
- Germany Base Power NOV 24 up 0.4% at 88.55 EUR/MWh
- EUA DEC 24 up 0.7% at 64.08 EUR/MT
- TTF Gas NOV 24 up 0.5% at 39.475 EUR/MWh
- Nuclear availability in France has decreased to 68% of capacity as of Wednesday morning, down from 70% on Tuesday morning, RTE data showed, cited by Bloomberg.
- The start of the planned maintenance at 1.3GW Cattenom 2 has been brought forward by one day to 4 October. Works are scheduled until 17 November.
- The latest 6-10 day ECMWF weather forecast suggested mean temperatures in Paris are forecast below the seasonal average until 6 October, before rising above normal with mean temperatures between 10-18C.
- Wind output is forecast to rise on the day to 6GW during base load on Thursday. Solar PV output is also forecast to rise day on day to 4.74GW during peak load according to SpotRenewables.
- Power demand in France is forecast to rise to a maximum of 53.42GW on Wednesday and of 53.52GW on Thursday, Entso-E data showed.
