The French November power base-load contract has been falling to new contract lows this week, on track for a weekly net decline by 8.5%, weighed on by losses in EU ETS, above normal hydropower stocks and forecasts for relatively mild weather with high wind output.

- EUA DEC 24 down 1.3% at 61.95 EUR/MT
- TTF Gas NOV 24 down 0.8% at 39.6 EUR/MWh
- Nuclear availability in France has decreased to 68% of capacity as of Friday morning, down from 71% on Thursday, RTE data showed, cited by Bloomberg.
- The unplanned halt at 1.5GW Civaux 1 is scheduled to end on Friday 11:00 CET. Planned maintenance at 1.34GW St Alban 1 has been shortened to end three days earlier on 10 October.
- The latest 6-10 day ECMWF weather forecast suggested mean temperatures in Paris are forecast below the seasonal average until 6 October, before rising above normal until 11 October, before rising back down below the average, with mean temperatures between 7.6-16C, revised lower on the day.
- Wind output in France is forecast to edge slightly higher on the day to 3.66GW during base load on Saturday, up from 3.15GW forecasted for Friday. Solar PV output is forecast to rise to 3.37GW during peak load on Saturday, from 2.83GW forecasted for Friday according to SpotRenewables.
- Power demand in France is forecast to rise to a maximum of 46.75GW on Saturday and of 45.53GW on Sunday, compared with a peak of 52.49GW on Friday, Entso-E data showed.
- The 1GW ElecLink will go offline on Saturday until 11 October in an unplanned outage, remit data showed on Thursday.
