POWER: French TSO Ups Curtailment Ceiling on Eastern Borders

POWER

RTE is expected to reduce power exports on France’s eastern borders – Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Italy - from 2-29 September, if the value of exports exceeds 10GW vs 8GW in August, Rte said today.

  • But in some cases, limitations may still be needed and applied below this 10 GW threshold, according to the TSO.
  • “Over August, some limitations were required to ensure operational security and led to cross-border capacity confines on the France-Italy and France-Switzerland borders in the first two weeks and no limitations on France’s eastern borders for the second half of the month,” Rte said.
  • France Base Power SEP 24 up 7.5% at 72.50 EUR/MWh
  • France Power OCT 24 up 4.8% at 77.61 EUR/MWh
