Spot power prices in CWE have pulled back sharply for Wednesday’s delivery with forecasts for strong wind output and mild weather across the region. The German spot power premium to the French market narrowed to €4.19/MWh, compared with €23.97/MWh in the previous session.
- The German day-ahead spot settled at €35.08/MWh, down from €95/MWh in the previous session.
- The German peak-load spot index cleared at €40.56/MWh, down from €101.35/MWh the day before.
- The French day-ahead spot cleared at€30.89/MWh, down from €71.03/MWh in the previous session.
- The French spot peak-load index settled at €35.11/MWh, down from €78.31/MWh the day before.
- In Germany, wind output is forecast to rise on Wednesday to 26.06GW during base load, up from 7.6GW forecasted for Tuesday. Solar PV output is also forecast to increase to 16GW during peak load, up from 12.8GW forecasted for Tuesday according to SpotRenewables.
- Residual load in Germany is forecast to decline by 24GWh/h on the day to 18.3GWh/h on Wednesday according to Reuters.
- Power demand in Germany is forecast to peak at 64.54GW on Tuesday and at 64.6GW on Wednesday, Entso-E data showed.
- Mean temperatures in Dusseldorf, Germany, are forecast at 15C on Wednesday, well above the seasonal average at 11.2C.
- In France, nuclear availability was stable on the day at 72% of capacity as of Tuesday morning, RTE data showed, cited by Bloomberg.
- Power demand in France is forecast at a maximum of 52GW on Tuesday and of 53.22GW on Wednesday, Entso-E data showed.
- Mean temperatures in Paris are forecast at 19.7C on Wednesday, well above the seasonal normal of 12.6C.
- Wind output in France is forecast to increase to 8.59GW during base load on Wednesday, up from 4.69GW forecasted for Tuesday. Solar PV output is forecast to edge lower to 3.56GW during peak load on Wednesday, compared with 3.92GW forecasted for Tuesday according to SpotRenewables.
- Residual load in France is forecast to decrease by 4.9GWh/h day on day on Wednesday according to Reuters.
