POWER: Germany's Innovation Tender Oversubscribed

The latest German innovation and biomethane tender round with a deadline on 1 September has been oversubscribed according to Bnetza. 

  • Germany offered 583MW of capacity and received 154 bids for 1.856GW.
  • Bnetza awarded 50 bids for a total capacity of 587MW at an average achieved price of 7.09ct/kWh, compared with the average price of 8.33ct/kWh in the previous round.
  • Most of the bids were plants with a combination of solar PV and storage. One offer for a combination of storage and wind has been submitted for the first time.
  • The next biomethane tender round will take place on 1 April 2025 and next innovation tender round will take place on 1 May 2025.
