Investment funds positioning in ICE German power futures rebounded from the previous week to increase their net long position to the highest since 16 August, according to the latest COT data as of 30 August.

  • Investment Funds net long position increased by 29,996 to +763,358
  • Investment Firms net long position rose by 545,822 to +1.181mn– The highest since 12 July.
  • Commercial Undertaking net short position decreased by 317,324 to -1.207mn
  • German front-month power baseload was up on the week last week amid price increases in TTF due to the Norwegian maintenance period and pipeline extensions – which offset high storage levels.
