POWER: Ireland Awards 1.3GW of Renewables in Latest Auction

Ireland has awarded over 1.3GW of renewables projects at an average strike price of €96.85/MWh in its latest RESS auction, with around 960MW being PV and about 373MW being onshore wind, TSO Eirgrid said.

  • Wind and Solar went at an average strike prices of €90.47/MWh and €104.76/MWh, respectively.
  • A further 500MW of PV was not chosen, with just 9MW of wind unsuccessful.
  • The 105MW Tullabeg 2 scheme and 100MW Milltown PV projects were some of the largest winners, with the 138MW Castlebanny and 91.2MW Carrowanagowan wind farms being the biggest.
