POWER: Jao FR-DE Oct Auction Clears Sharply Higher On Year

Allocated capacity in both the German-French direction in the October CBC Jao auction cleared higher on year, with offered volumes increasing only slightly.

  • For October delivery in the France-German direction, all 365MW of offered capacity has been allocated at €18.31/MWh. This is up from 350MW which went at €7.68/MWh for Oct 2023 delivery.
  • And this compares to September, when 185MW of offered capacity has been allocated at €22.08/MWh
  • In the other direction, 414MW of the 415MW of offered capacity was allocated at €3.11/MWh, up from €3.03/MWh for 400MW for Oct 2023.
  • In September, 415MW of offered capacity sold at €2.58/MWh.
  • Germany October power base load is currently trading at €76.20/MWh, holding a €17/MWh premium to the French market at the time of writing.
