Romania has launched its first renewable auction under a 15-year CfD scheme to support 1.5GW of onshore wind and solar PV projects, with bids open by mid-Nov, the energy ministry said, cited by Bloomberg. 

  • The support will fund the development of 500MW of PV and 1GW of wind.
  • The maximum price for solar projects is set at €78/MWh and at €82/MWh for onshore wind projects.
  • "Contracts for the first tender are expected to be signed by the end of this year”, the ministry said.
  • The CfD scheme will be supported with €3bn euros by the Modernisation Fund and will cover 5GW of renewable capacity.
