President Biden's Approval Rating Remains Low Ahead Of International Trip

The approval rating of US President Joe Biden has recovered slightly but remains low ahead of a key week of European engagements during which Biden will meet with a series of world leaders ahead of the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.

  • According to RealClearPolitics, Biden's approval rating of -11.1 has returned to levels last seen in early May before the standoff over the debt ceiling. Notably, the number of voters expressing disapproval has dropped by around 3 percent since May 31.
  • On Wednesday, July 5, Biden will welcome Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson to the White House to reaffirm ties and convey US support for Sweden’s accession to NATO.
  • On Sunday, Biden will travel to the United Kingdom for meetings with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and King Charles III, “to strengthen the close relationship” between the two countries.
  • After the NATO summit, Biden will travel to Helsinki Finland on July 13 to attend the US-Nordic Leaders Summit.
