President Petro, Finance Minister Bonilla Due To Speak At Davos

  • President Gustavo Petro is due to speak at 1515GMT(1015ET) at the World Economic Forum in Davos today, while Finance Minister Bonilla will also participate separately in a panel discussion. Any comments from Bonilla on monetary policy will be of particular interest, given that he is a member of BanRep’s monetary policy committee. The next MPC interest rate decision is scheduled for Jan 31st, when the market will be looking for a further cut after December’s initial 25bp move.
  • On the data front, BanRep’s latest economists survey is due to be published later today. Further ahead, data on industrial production, manufacturing production and retail sales will be published on Wednesday and will be followed on Thursday by Economic activity data for November.
