Psaki: No Plans For A No-Fly Zone

WHITE HOUSE

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has fielded questions on the prospect of a no-fly zone enforced by NATO ahead of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to Congress tomorrow.

  • On the prospect of a no-fly zone Psaki says: 'The President has to make decisions through the prism of national security interests. There are not a lot of advocates on capitol hill calling for a no-fly zone.'
  • Psaki says nothing has changed on White House analysis for providing MiG-29 fighter jets. It would be a 'greater risk than benefit.'
  • On whether or not the US can continue to provide aid and support to Ukraine despite Russian threats to target US supply hubs: 'We believe we will continue to have the means to do that'.
  • Paski says that the White House recognises the urgency to mitigate the risk of high energy costs but does not outline any specific policy.
